This time of year can feel tricky for me. I can get caught between my desire for connection and expression of love and my resistance to a culture of consumerism (Yes, you can buy love!) and disposability (And if it doesn’t work out, just chuck it.)
For this inbetweenie week, after the biggest gift-giving season of the year, I invited my friend and teacher, Laura DeVault to have a conversation about generosity.
We talk about what generosity is, why it matters, and how to offer it with love, thoughtfulness, and alignment with our values. This is a conversation about striking our own paths toward giving while keeping your values and your good spirits intact.
Connect with Laura about her work as a meditation teacher and an end-of-life doula by emailing her (lauradevault@gmail.com) and at her new website (to come!). I’m so grateful for her good-humored wisdom. I hope you enjoy our conversation as much as I did.
BONUS: And for more thoughts on and a fantastic story about generosity, please check out Kate Bennis’s great post about it. Wisdom generously offered.
